Service Opportunities

One of the four pillars at Marquette centers on service. As a student organization, we also value the importance of service and strive to give back to Marquette as well as the Milwaukee community. Service is a wonderful way to discover the connections we have with our neighbors in Milwaukee and foster community growth. As future healthcare workers, it is crucial we understand the importance of service to others.

The Biomedical Sciences Student Association hosts one service opportunity each month. Please consider joining us!

If you have any ideas or events you would like to participate in, please email Mary Gloss at Mary.Gloss@Marquette.edu

In December, members of BMSA assisted at the Special Olympics Bowling Tournament. We cheered on the bowlers, kept score, or handed out their awards at the award ceremony. We enjoyed the event and hope to see you next year!

This November we went to help winterize homes for the elderly with other Marquette students. We were cold, but the help was much needed!

February 2007: TBA

March 2007: TBA

April 2007: HUNGER-CLEAN UP. Hunger Clean-Up is one of the largest service events in the nation hosted by Marquette. As a BMSA team we will be assigned to an area in Milwaukee and will help in some way. In previous years, we have planted flowers at an AIDS home, cleaned up the Milwaukee River, and picked up trash in park.
